The Sign-mime choir is another part of LUYHM. It is under the direction of
Karen L. Rush. Our purpose is to minister to God's people through the medium of
Sign-mime (a combination of Sign language and pantomime). We have been in
existence since February of 1998, when we started rehearsing for our Director's
Holy Ghost Birthday Celebration. That was our first engagement and debut as a
choir. We are a community choir which consist of families, mothers, sons,
daughters, cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, and
grandchildren.
Some of the awards that the choir has received since its inception in 1998 are as
follows:
-- The "Christian Arts Award" by the New Hope International Association of
Christian Dancers, founded by Pastor Regina Patrick of Life Changers Ministries
Church of Detroit, MI.
-- The Spirit of Detroit Award from Detroit City Council for our work with Literacy
Volunteers of America in 2002, 2003, and 2004.
The Sign-mime Choir has ministered in and around the metropolitan Detroit
area,blessing God's people both hearing and Deaf. Some standing engagements
include, The Children's Hospital's charitable event, Festival of Trees, The
Gospel Fest, Detroit Culture Center's Noel Night, The Martin Luther King Gospel
concert hosted by Eastern Michigan University just to name a few.
The choir has traveled to Grand Rapids, MI, Lansing, MI, Chicago, IL, Racine,
WS, and Columbia, SC, to share their ministering gifts.
The Lift Up Your Hands Ministries Bi-annual Sign-mime concert is a spectacular
praise and worship experience that occurs the last Saturday of October every
other year. Past concerts include the years 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006. The
concerts are still ministering to people today by the way of videos and DVDs.

The Sign-mime choir is available for ministering engagements for church
functions, school or civic functions, private parties, celebrations, rallies,
conferences, revivals, special programs for youth day, men's day or women's day.
A&B selections, full length concerts, mini concerts or short programs are available
for your ministering needs.
Love offering or donations are accepted and appreciated, for ministering
engagements.
